   Beware! On the surface these charts look pretty good. If you’re considering nursing as a career, please dig deeper. Go to well known nursing literature to get a better perspective of being a nurse. The above charts show 60% of nurses work in hospitals, yet another chart show nurses working in hospitals have next to the lowest satisfaction. I believe those number to probably be accurate. Ask yourself why the nurses are not happy, making that great salary and all! The info is available if you look for it. I also propose there are NOT going to be all those jobs working in a physician office for $50K plus. Generally speaking, the jobs that pay the most, especially at entry level, are going to be hospital. That means working night shift, holidays and weekends. A worse case scenario, broken down to its basic core is to picture yourself at 3AM, Christmas eve. You would much rather be home in bed, where your family is. But you’re sleep deprived, full of caffeine,cleaning up a strangers bowel movement. Of course theres more to nursing than that, but not as great as it seems.
   Just sayin, check out the whole picture before racking up all that time and student loan debt.
